Our story begins in 1919 when Giovanni Battista Barbé, a bank clerk, following his brother’s passing, takes over his printing company. After difficult years of the Second World War, the entrepreneur with a great innovative spirit understands that due to considerable industrial development, the times are changing. He carefully observes the emergence of the special paper used for the recording of the industrial, medical, and scientific processes: he realizes that these products require an extreme precision and decides to invest in the field of graph paper for recording devices by establishing collaborations, in Italy and abroad, with major OEMs in the industry.
That realization has led to the growth of the Mortara company.
